#apxhtx Social Networking
During the events of Convention and using various social networking sites everyone is encouraged to use the hashtag #apxhtx Please be respectful and cautious when posting to any platform. We are a professional group of students and alumni and should make sure that is reflected in our digital footprint of this event.
The most up to date schedule information for the Convention can be found here. Please take note of the start times and event locations: it’s important to be on time to events. Some of us may refer to “Alpha Rho Chi Time”, however this will not be in effect during convention.
Display of your name tag, provided to you at check-in, will be required at all Convention Events. If you are not wearing your name tag, you may be asked to leave an event to retrieve it. We will also be checking IDs prior to those events with a cash bar.
Business dress is required. Jeans, sweatshirts, athletic shoes, torn clothing, and low cut/revealing articles are not acceptable. Please be respectful and ask if you are unsure. Business dress is not to be confused with business casual. Men should consider wearing a shirt and tie, but jackets are not strictly required; women should wear nice pants and a blouse/sweater. The meeting room may be cold, so consider bringing a sweater or nice jacket.
Houston is expected to have temperatures in the 50s -70s with the chance of rain. Appropriate attire is important when venturing outside your comfort zone and region. Please plan accordingly.
The delegate is expected to attend the Convention Primer as well as all business sessions and to be attentive and on time.
Chapters and Alumni Associations should use Docusign to help ensure their good standing and that their delegates are properly credentialed with the Credentials Committee.
The Convention Primer is open to everyone. Delegates are required to attend, as are any brothers running for convention office. Anyone who wishes to actively participate in the discussion of the motions is also encouraged to attend.
This year’s primer took place on March 3rd by video conference. Please contact email@example.com if you were not able to attend but wanted to.
The hotel is located at 6 E Greenway Plaza, Houston, Texas, 77046. It may be more difficult to use public transportation to travel to Houston’s airports, but there are transit options particularly within the downtown area. Greenlink is a free downtown circulator bus visiting many popular downtown destinations. Also, all taxi trips within the Central Business District are a flat $6 and include multiple riders.
